Published to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund this set of four portraits, by Eric Kennington, of RAF heroes have been personally signed by the subjects making the edition an extremely rare and fine group of prints and signatures. Portraits included are:
Squadron Leader Douglas Bader DSO, DFC who lost both his legs, continued flying and was awarded the DFC & DSO.
Flight Lieutenant John Cunningham DFC nicknamed 'cat eyes' for his ability to down aircraft in the dark.
Sergeant James Lacey DFM AND BAR, the RAF's leading Battle of Britain flying ace with 18 victories.
Flight Lieutenant Roderick Learoyd VC who was awarded the V.C. for his part in a bombing raid in 1940.
Only 950 editions were published and are now extremely hard to find.
Comes complete with a numbered certificate of limitation signed by Air Marshal Sir Denis Crowley-Milling KCB, CBE, DSO, DFC, AE.
